I got a job!!!! YAYYYY !!!
'Our company sets us and administers limited companies for independent contractors.' We do the contract work, all the tax filing, expenses, .. all the business financials.
I went to the interview on Wed. The lady I spoke with was very enthused about the company, really only asked me ONE question, ' What can I bring to this firm?' The interview was more of a conversation, didn't run by that corporate technique of asking you a bunch of questions about your last position etc.. So refreshing, but strange.
She said, point blank, that the sound of my voice on the phone was one of the pre-qualifiers. Said that my accent would keep the contractors on the phone, they'd want to talk to me all day. LOL! Can't help but laugh, my being American is the one thing I was convinced was holding me back in all my other applications!
I asked about growth potential. Not only is the business planning to double in size by next year, they're also looking at new premises in order to accomodate. Additionally, the head of the contracts dept is looking to retire in 2008. That's a goal, something to shoot for, eh?
I'm not making what I had hoped, but the money is still a damned sight better than at the grocery store. For 10 hrs more a week, I will double my income... and I get weekends OFF!!!!Lynnie-Lou has also upped her earnings in her new position. We'll be sitting pretty before too long!
LOL... no more uniform! no more name tag *happy happy happy*
And while it doesn't diminish the joy, I also have a whole new bunch of co-workers to meet and potentially come out to. *rolls eyes*
~ gotta run, bye!!!

lmao at the accent thing, it does sound weird, but understandable (I love British accents) Max has a wonderful accent, never got tired of hearing her speak (of course, she had a whole lot of content going on...)
